Kampala University proprietor’s wife, Jolly S. Kateregga, has publicly denied allegations linking her to an alleged affair with the Director of Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), AIGP Tom Magambo, describing the claims as false, malicious and misleading.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, Mrs Kateregga said she has never met AIGP Magambo and has no personal, professional or business relationship with him whatsoever.
“I wish to categorically and unequivocally refute and condemn the false and malicious allegations currently circulating in sections of the media and on social platforms claiming that I am involved in an affair with AIGP Tom Magambo,” the statement reads.
Mrs Kateregga said the allegations are completely unfounded and are not only damaging to her personal reputation but also unfairly directed at a senior public servant performing official duties.
She warned that the continued spread of such claims undermines the integrity of public institutions and fuels misinformation at a time when restraint and responsibility are needed.

The Kampala University proprietor’s wife also clarified that her personal family matter is currently before a competent civil court of law, urging the public and the media to allow the judicial process to take its course.
“I respectfully urge the public and the media to await the final judgment rather than engaging in speculation or spreading misinformation,” she said.
Mrs Kateregga further called on media houses and social media users to verify information before publication and to desist from circulating unverified and harmful claims.
She concluded by reserving her right to take legal action against individuals or platforms that continue to propagate the false allegations.
The statement comes amid heightened public attention surrounding an ongoing family dispute involving businessman Professor Badru Kateregga, with police and security agencies repeatedly stressing that the matter remains civil in nature.
