Ugandan comedy queen Anne Kansiime has dropped a bombshell revelation: she never actually completed her university studies, despite widespread belief that she holds a degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University.
The 36-year-old, known for her razor-sharp wit and infectious humor, spilled the beans in a recent interview, admitting that she fell short of graduating due to retakes in a couple of course units.
“I studied for three years, but when it was time for graduation, turns out I had 2 course units to retake,” Kansiime disclosed, her trademark humor not missing a beat. “I was like, you must be joking! After holding my breath to finish my education?”
Kansiime confessed to orchestrating a cunning plan to hoodwink her family. Instead of facing the music, she opted to forego the ceremony altogether and concocted a story to dissuade her parents from attending.
“I just bought the graduation gown, called my parents, and convinced them it would be a waste of money for them to come,” she chuckled mischievously. “My dad was all about saving cash, so anything to do with skipping an event saved him a penny.”
With her career already taking off and money flowing in, Kansiime found her parents less concerned about her academic pursuits. “So I snapped some pics, sent them home, and voilà! They never suspected a thing,” she quipped.
Now at the pinnacle of her career, Kansiime remains unfazed by her lack of university credentials. “What matters is I went to Makerere… my classmates can vouch for that,” she asserted. “And let’s be real, I’m not planning a bid for political office. So, if I ever come looking for votes, don’t vote for me!”
In typical Anne Kansiime fashion, she’s turned what could have been a scandal into another punchline. As fans continue to laugh along with her antics, one thing’s for sure – when it comes to comedy, Kansiime reigns supreme, university degree or not.
