The March 2022 examinations for the Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (CPA-U) course have commenced, on Monday, 14 March 2022, for 5 days until 18th March.
Candidates have started with Business Law (Paper 4), Advanced Financial Reporting (Paper 13) and Financial Accounting (Paper 1).
3081 candidates registered for the March 2022 diet. The March diet was introduced to mitigate the COVID-19 disruptions where examinations could not take place due to closure of educational institutions.
“We are happy with the turnout, as the March diet gives students more chance to catch up with lost time due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said John Bosco Ntangaare, the ICPAU Director – Education.
The other examinations diets for 2022 are scheduled for: 13-17 June, 12-16 September, and 12–16 December.
Candidates had this to say about the examinations:
“The examination was fair and I did my best. The March diet is welcome because it avails us with another chance to attempt the Papers. I hope to complete the course in 2023”. Kevin Namaato, a candidate of Advanced Financial Reporting – Paper 13
“The Advanced Financial Reporting – Paper 13 examination would have been fair but the questions were tough to interpret. Therefore, the question interpretation consumed quite some time. However, I did my best and I expect to pass. The March diet is very helpful as it shortens the completion period of the course. I hope to complete in 2023”. Sarah Kagoya
“The Paper was tough but I did my best. We are happy with the March diet as it avails another opportunity to attempt the Papers. We also hope that in the future all examinations diets can be conducted at all the seven centres”. James Omot, Advanced Financial Reporting Paper 13
