The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) has recognised outstanding candidates who emerged top per subject in the December 2025 professional examinations, highlighting academic excellence across all levels of the programme.
The follow-up recognition comes days after the official release of the December 2025 examination results, with the institute applauding candidates whose exceptional performance set them apart in highly competitive papers.
Level I: Strong Foundation Performers
At Level I, Travis Mwebaza Mugerwa topped Financial Accounting, while Rodgers Irankunda led in Economics and Entrepreneurship. Donald Batte emerged best in Quantitative Techniques, with Mariam Atukunda excelling in Management and Information Systems.
Gabriella Arienyo topped Business and Company Law, while Eunice Alobo claimed top honours in Cost and Management Accounting, reflecting a strong cohort building a solid foundation in accountancy.

Level II: Consistency and Excellence
Level II results showed consistency from Hallowed Agaba, who topped both Financial Reporting and Management Decision and Control—an uncommon double achievement.
Mercy Priscilla Kwaga led Financial Management, Rebecca Kemigisha topped Auditing Ethics and Assurance, while Irene Kemigisa emerged best in Taxation.
Level III: Advanced Professional Mastery
At Level III, Proscovia Iga Nayiga topped Advanced Financial Reporting, while Isabel Asiimire excelled in Public Financial Management.
Davis Andrew Lado emerged best in Strategy, Governance and Leadership, Pascal Bukenya led Advanced Financial Management, Praise Asasira topped Audit Practice and Assurance, and Olivia Namara claimed top position in Advanced Taxation.
Integration of Knowledge: Overall Best Candidates
The Integration of Knowledge paper (Paper 18) crowned Shaban Tumwebaze as the overall Top Student. Emmily Namwano had an impressive showing, emerging both Best Female Student and Second Top Student, while Geoffrey Mukwaba ranked as the Third Top Student.
ICPAU Commends Academic Discipline
ICPAU leadership praised the candidates for their discipline, resilience, and commitment to professional excellence, noting that the strong performance reflects the growing maturity and competitiveness of Uganda’s accountancy profession.
The institute encouraged the top performers to serve as role models, not only academically but also ethically, as they transition into professional practice and leadership roles within the financial sector.
ICPAU reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing globally competitive accountants, urging all students—successful and otherwise—to maintain focus as preparations begin for the 2026 examination diets.
