International Law Students Association (ILSA) has finally spoken out on the contention by Makerere and LDC Jessup Law team against UCU representing Uganda at the Jessup Moot Competition in April.
Two separate petitions were filed last week by the two teams to ILSA rejecting the announcement of UCU as the winner of the Jessup National Rounds that were took place at Cavendish.
However, after a long wait for a communication from ILSA regarding the petitions, the winning team instead received an email on Monday inviting them to attend the 2017 Jessup International Rounds.
The email impliedly means that ILSA did not see merit in the petitions by the two teams.
“Congratulations on advancing to The White & Case International Rounds of the Jessup Competition” read part of the email.
UCU will therefore be representing Uganda at the International rounds in April.
