Uganda National Water and Sewerage Corporation is facing quite a headache after student trainees and some marginalized staff are pinning top managers for demanding sex in return for internship placements and permanent work positions.
The victims who are mainly female trainees have indicated that even though they reported to the NWSC boss, Dr Silver Mugisha a week before, he blasted them claiming that they are spreading propaganda and want to tarnish the name of the company.
On prefer of anonymity because of fearing for their lives, one of the claims that the situation is getting out of hand.
“I came to NWSC and I started training but I have undergone a lot of hardships because of my supervisor. He disturbs me now and then; every day he demands for sex whenever he gets chance to meet me on the compound promising that he will help me get a full time job,” the victim said.
Efforts to brush the horny managers off have remained futile because the men in question just won’t give up and they keep pestering the victims into giving them sex.
Another victim claims that even after refusing to meet her supervisor from NWSC in weird hours at various locations and telling him to his face, the man who in question is married has let her pleas slide from one ear out of the other.
Some of the trainees have also received threats by their horny supervisor who promise to fail them if they don’t give them sex.
“I have also suffered under this man because he face-to-face demanded for sex in order to let me pass internship but the man refused. He calls at night and I have enough of his recordings which I am willing to offer you even,” she told us.
However, it’s not only about sex for internship placements but also tribalism at the company. One of the male trainees has accused the company of having tribal favoritism.
The male trainee claims that the company favors mostly people from the western region and that is because most of their offices are occupied by Runyakole speaking managers.
However, NWSC has come out in a tweet responding to one its followers that the reports are baseless stories.
