ISBAT University Introduces Two Ph.D Programs

On September 30, 2023, the International, Science Business And Technology University (ISBAT) achieved a significant milestone by introducing doctoral programs, aligning itself with other universities in the country and abroad that offer Ph.D. programs.

The National Council for Higher Education has granted accreditation to two Ph.D. programs of ISBAT University, aiming to have a positive impact on the educational development of Uganda. The launch of these accredited Ph.D. programs was led by Honorable Dr. Jane Egau Okou, the Under Secretary for Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Education and Sports. It’s worth noting that ISBAT University received its prestigious charter from NCHE in 2019.

ISBAT University is known for its state-of-the-art infrastructure, internationally experienced faculty members, Outcome-based experiential teaching, and globally recognized  degree programmes. It has also forged developed strong international collaborations with renowned universities, business schools, and ICT academiesm, and industries for further enhancement of  students’ success and progression.

Professor K.M. Mathew, the Vice-Chancellor of ISBAT University, emphasized the university’s readiness to educate aspirants/learners and to enhance their value by nurturing their talent and encouraging research for societal transformation. He highlighted the potential for graduates of these programs to bridge the digital divide and drive technological advancements that benefit Ugandan society as a whole.

Dr. Jane Egau Okou emphasized the shortage of Ph.D. holders in the country, particularly in the field of education. She saw ISBAT University’s introduction of Ph.D. programs as a valuable opportunity for Ugandans to elevate their educational qualifications.

This program represents a new era of academic excellence and research innovation not only at ISBAT University but also within the broader Ugandan academic community. The introduction of Ph.D. programs reflects a deep commitment to the pursuit of knowledge.
