In a letter dated 24 August 2020, Prof Mathew K.M, the Vice Chancellor of ISBAT University revealed that the university management has resolved to offer a 25% tuition discount to all their students following the economic challenges faced by both students and parents due to COVID-19.
The letter also indicates that the university is set to commence the Fall semester online come October 12th 2020. According to Prof. Mathew, ISBAT University has been permitted to conduct online classes by the National Council for Higher Education – NCHE.
“ISBAT University has been permitted to conduct online classes, and accredited all the ongoing programmes, by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education, vide NCHE Letter Ref: NCHE/U/56 dated 7 Aug 2020. Accordingly University has planned for the academic session for Fall 2020 commencing from 12th October 2020.” The letter reads in part.
The 25% tuition discount will be enjoyed by both continuing and the newly admitted freshers.
“As a responsible Chartered University, the management has decided to waive off 25% of the tuition fees for all active students of Fall 2020, including the new admissions. This arrangement is in consideration of the prevailing pandemic situations, and is applicable only for the Fall 2020 session of the University.” The letter reads further.
The university plans to hold online studies using their hybrid virtual learning platform which is on global standards, hosted on a global web platform, and favors all courses offered at ISBAT University.
Prof Mathew wrapped up the communication by assuring students that they will receive further enrichment in the respective practical sessions when they return to the campus for a face-to-face session.
