International University of East Africa (IUEA) celebrate 7 years of existence in teaching and graduating students with varied degrees on the Friday the 28th day of September 2018.
The same event will also double as a day upon which the new Mr and Miss IUEA for the year 2018/2019 will be selected.
The activities will take place at the University auditorium from 6pm until late in the night. The Mr and Miss IUEA is the biggest event at the University that happens annually and is organized by the University management alongside a few selected students that constitute of a committee.
A total of over 25 contestants are vying for the positions of Mr and Miss IUEA. The students represent 6 varied countries who will be presented before a panel of judges in a variety of activities that will be used to test the capability and suitability of the candidates for the different positions. The countries represented are Uganda, Tanzania, Cameroon, Rwanda, Congo, and South Sudan.
“The event is about encouraging IUEA students to show their talent, build confidence and a way of entertaining the students and community at large,” said Alice Barlow, the former Miss IUEA for the year 2016/2017.
Upon being selected for the positions, Mr and Miss IUEA become ambassadors of the university and get to be the face of the University at different events. They also get to be of great impact in the students’ lives and at campus.
“It is an opportunity given to a person to make the best out of it,” Barlow added.
A line up of entertainment has been organized for students and the Kansanga community including musical performances from some of Uganda’s artists at a fee of UGX. 10,000 for the ordinary students and UGX. 30,000 for the VIP. This will be followed by an after party at the University pool side.
