International University of East Africa (IUEA) yesterday emerged winners of the highly competitive Africa Leadership Award 2016.
The Leadership Awards event that took place at Imprerial Royale Hotel drew together universities on the continent, and they were ranked basing on their roles in imparting quality education with emphasis on practical skills as well as granting leadership career roles into students.
Several countries and universities in Africa participated under different categories of young enterprises, leadership, innovation, internet among others.
Among these, East Africa International University based in Kansanga, Uganda, scooped the highest award of the Best Leadership Institution and its exemplary and selfless contribution towards Africa’s development.
To be eligible to receive an Africa Leadership Award, the University must be nominated by participants; the university must also venture into imparting leadership skills in students and as well be outstanding in taking leadership roles.
The news was warmly received and it places IUEA among the top universities in the region.
“Through quality education and emphasis on practical kills, IUEA continues to achieve greatness and this can be measured by our graduates’ success. Together, we will educate and develop Africa,” reads a post on the University’s official Facebook page.
The Africa Leadership Awards is all about Achievers, Super Achievers and Future Business Leaders. This glamorous event attracted the best of the best from Africa. This event highlighted, recognized and rewarded their ability to steer their businesses and leaders through turbulent times.
Over 20 categories recognize the achievements made by selected high-profile corporate business leaders in Africa and honor their great contributions towards the country’s post-recession economic development. All these fine exemplary leaders will be mentioned of their impeccable leadership qualities deeming it fit into nation building.
