The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) has announced the dates for its 29th Graduation Ceremony that will be held on 27th March, 2021 at IUIU Females’ Campus, Kabojja starting from 8 am.
According to a statement issued by the Academic Registrar of the Institution Dr Halima Wakabi Akbar, all graduands are supposed to meet all requirements for them to graduate.
Graduation fees for undergraduate is UGX 313,000/USD 100 and Masters and Post Graduate Diploma UGX 375, 000/USD 110 and Ph.D UGX 785,000/ USD 220 exclusive of bank charges.
Graduands should pay all the respective graduation fees in their respective campus accounts and present a bank deposit slip to the bursary in a duplicate.
Graduands who shall have paid all their university dues including graduation fees before the deadline shall appear in the graduation booklet and attend the graduation ceremony.
No one will be issued academic documents before full payment of all university dues including graduation fees. The deadline for paying the graduation fees, university fees and all academic requirements is Friday, 19th March, 2021. Post graduate students must have must have submitted the error free bound basis thesis by this date in order to be included on the graduation list,” reads a statement signed by Dr Halima Wakabi Akbar.
The institution is informing all the students who need to graduate to pick their gowns on 24th March, 2021 from their respective campuses.
The Islamic University in Uganda says the graduation will be held virtually in the wake of COVID-19 except few graduands who shall receive invitation cards.
“Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, the graduation ceremony will be held virtually (online) for all students except those who will receive invitation cards who should go to the Females’ Campus for the Graduation Ceremony. A link for the graduation ceremony will be available on the IUIU website by Thursday, 25th March, 2021. The ceremony will be also be streamed live on social media,” reads a statement.
The university is advising all invited and physically present persons at the ceremony to observe the Standard Operating Services (SOPs) on COVID-19 pandemic and follow all the rules and regulations of the organizers.
The institution is expected to graduate 1200 students who failed to graduate in December, 2020 for their failure to meet all the requirements including academic requirements and fees requirements. The graduands will come from all four IUIU campuses namely Main Campus in Mbale City, Kampala Campus in Kampala, Females Campus in Kabojja and Arua Campus in Arua City.
