The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) has assured international students that they will offer them quality medical services through in an insurance policy it signed with AAR Health Services (Uganda ) Limited.
The assurance was made yesterday during a sensitization meeting with the international students organized by IUIU’s Academic Registry Department in collaboration with the insurance provider, AAR Health Services at IUIU Main Campus in Mbale City.
Addressing the students, Mukisa Mary who is the Business Development Manager at AAR Health Service urged the students to use the insurance policy effectively.
Mukisa advised the students to always notify the insurance provider when they are not satisfied with the services they get from a number of hospitals in Uganda.
Speaking to Campus Bee, IUIU Guild President Kakande Hafdwar commended the University for giving the assurance to the students. The insurance policy covers medical check up, dental , optical, in-patient and out-patient charges.
Recently, the International Students through their president Osama Salim at the University penned the administration asking for the removal of the money saying they had not received the cards in the 2020/2021 academic year.
During the meeting, the students were assured to be given cards and those who were given cards in 2019/2020 academic year were assured that their cards be reactivated.
The Islamic University in Uganda has over 500 international students from 21 countries.
