MBALE: Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) on Friday concluded the week long orientation of its Freshers.
The Academic Registrar of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Dr Halima Wakabi Akbar while speaking to Freshers on Friday said the institution’s measures to assure quality education are unique.
Dr Akbar made the remarks during the interactive meeting with the year one students at IUIU Main Campus in Mbale City.
Dr Akbar says the Islamic University believes in intensive teaching that helps the students to leave the campus when they are complete intellectuals.
The IUIU Academic Registrar assured the first year students that the institution is ready to nurture them into productive citizens.
According to Dr Akbar, the institution makes sure that the Lecturers are teaching and that the students are attending the Lectures.
She says the students must utilize their chance of being at the Islamic University by focusing on their academics.
Dr Akbar who was among the 80 pioneer students to step into the premises of the Islamic University in Uganda in 1988 assured the first year students that her office is committed to help them to achieve their academic dreams. She requested the students to always meet her whenever they have challenges.
“Always meet me when challenges arise. Make good use of your stay at IUIU and you must be productive in your endeavors,” Dr Akbar says.
In his remarks, the University Dean of Students (University Coordinator), Dr Sulaiti Kabali says the students made the right choice by joining Islamic University in Uganda.
“We are happy that you are here. The Islamic University in Uganda will make sure that you get your academic qualifications at the end of your studies. You will get your degrees,” Dr Kabali says.
The University Coordinator cautioned the freshmen and women to desist from cooking in halls of residence to avoid accidents that are caused due to electrical faults.
“Don’t cook from your rooms to avoid deaths of your friends. It is prohibited to cook from the room. In case you are caught, you will be expelled from the university. You must cook from the kitchen when don’t need to buy food from the service providers within the campus,” Dr Kabali says.
The Islamic University in Uganda has four campus namely Main Campus in Mbale City, Kampala Campus in Kampala City, Females’ Campus in Wakiso District and Arua Campus in Arua City.
