The Chairman of 2020 Islamic University Electoral Commission (EC) – Main Campus in Mbale has fired Chief Commissioner ahead of guild elections on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by the Chairman , Gava Kasango, the Chief Commissioner, Mugoya Hakim has been fired for breaking the rules of the commission.
“The Office of the Electoral Commission has impeached Mr Mugoya Hakim for disobedience and disrespect to the Electoral Commission rules and guidelines on appointment,”
“Therefore, Mr Mugoya Hakim is restricted from being an agent of any aspirant during the polling day,” reads a statement.
The EC Chairman has appointed Mr Mugoya Awali as new Chief Commissioner.
“Mr Mugoya Awali is to take up the responsibilities as the Chief Commissioner in the EC,” reads the statement.
IUIU will on Saturday elect new students representatives to form the 2020/2021 Islamic University Students Union (IUSU) Government.
Today, two Guild presidential candidates namely Muhammad AbdulAziz and Werunga Yusuf are meeting face to face in a debate organised by the EC.
