With a few months to the country’s general elections of 2021, various candidates from different universities have come out to express their interest in the contest of the big positions both in parliament and district levels.
Capturing our attention is a first year Bachelor of Law student at the Kampala based Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) who has come out and confirmed he will contest for the Kampala Lord Mayor seat.
Mayanja Yakubu Musaazi will be running under the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT). The 24 year old completed his first degree in Social Works and Social Administration (SWASA) in 2018 and after realizing that he lacked more knowledge in the justice sector, he decided to go back and currently enrolled for a Bachelor of Law degree at the same University.
Mr. Musaazi fronts his abilities as a policy expert who has trained with the Parliament of Uganda under the Department of Urban Planning and Development as well as the Committees on Health, Education and Sports and the Office of the President.
He was among the Guild Aspirants of the institution in 2017 and and was a “Jajja” of the IUIU Nkobazambogo Association.
