The students leaders at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) treated Butalejja district to sessions of civic education about laws and human rights.
Led by their Guild President, Kakande Hafdwar, the guild leaders conducted a legal aid clinic in the district under the theme; ” People’s Bridge to Justice.”
Addressing the people, Guild President Kakande Hafdwar urged the people to understand the laws of the country if they want to become good citizens.
“There is no way you can do away with the laws since they are part of us. We are governed by the laws,” he said.
Kakande also advised the people to be ambassadors for change in their district by correcting mistakes that old people did.
The initiative that was spearheaded by the university’s Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs civic educated the people about family law, family law, National Security Funds Law among others.
