MBALE: Just in case you thought IUIU is weak in all fields, think twice or even thrice, at least they mind about their students’ security and safety. Over the weekend, the Mbale based University upgraded its security by planting its first lot of spy CCTV cameras at the University main gate with aims of reducing on theft that has become rampant at the varsity. The University Security officer Mr. Ratib felt sweet as he talked to our reporter on this development, “I told you all is well and you students said, propaganda just, now tell me, who’s laughing last?” he said.
This development comes as a countermeasure to theft (burglary would be the best word) that’s on the rampant at IUIU and it’s neighborhood. Students alleged that the thieves pass the stolen property at the gate after bribing or conniving with the security personnel on duty.
This is why CCTV have been planted at the gate, hopefully these burglars don’t watch movies because they’d think about erasing footage so these cameras can be of no use in the quest of hunting them down.
“We can now relax a little bit since we have CCTV cameras. We have been on tenterhooks as thieves would raid our Hall (Sumaya Hall) and make away with our valuables like DVDs, hoofers and much more. We are thankful to the security department for this,” Hasfa Mubiru, a resident at Sumaya Hall told this reporter.
Keep the spirit ongoing, we at Campusbee would like at commend the security personnel at IUIU because security is key to the well being of students.
