The Islamic university in Uganda (IUIU) Main campus in Mbale is still in shock after the loss of their very own lecture Dr Juliet Tembe.

Dr Tembe succumbed to cancer on the December 13 in Butaleja  where she had been residing.

Before her sudden departure, a lot had been done including starting up an online initiative dubbed “Juliet Tembe now fights cancer” all in a bid to raise funds and save her life but all was in vain.

Dr Tembe, apart from lecturing at IUIU, was also the former chairperson of TASO Mbale, and also the TASO  board of trustees.

Benjamin Ajal, Tembe’s close friend, described her  as a mentor who will never be forgotten. “Death has robbed the academic community on Uganda of a distinguished scholar, Dr. Juliet Tembe Hirome! She was a mentor and a colleague who will be missed dearly!”
