Shocking news reaching us indicates that Islamic University in Uganda main campus located in Mbale has over the last two weeks expelled a total of 40 students, 30 of which are finalists who were expecting to sit for their very last exams at campus in less than a month.
IUIU which is the biggest Muslim founded university in Uganda has been known for its strictness and tight rules over the past years which have made it one of the most feared universities in Uganda.
“During the cross-examining to which you were subjected at the above Disciplinary Sub-Committee and basing on your oral and written submission in which you stated that you were found in darkness engaging in love affairs, you were found guilty of having committed the above stated offence hence having violated the above cited rule,” part of the dismissal letter reads.
According to one of the students Agaba who spoke to Campus Bee in condition of anonymity, most of the expelled students were sent home because of minor issues- the most common being “Fornication.”
“Yes the university has been strict over time but this time it’s too much,” Agaba told our reporter.
“Most students have been expelled because of stupid things like coupling, what hurts the most is that 30 of the 40 students that were expelled are finalists who were to do their final exams in less than a month,” Agaba painfully narrated.
Agaba told this website of a one Salim Mwaiwada who was recently given a dead year for ‘’fueling’’ a term used to mean coupling.
