The Rector of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Professor Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda engaged potential investors during the Uganda-Turkiye Investment, Trade, Industry, and Tourism Summit held at the Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala ahead of construction plans of a teaching hospital.
The Islamic University in Uganda participated in the summit which attracted both local and international investors, mainly Turkish to showcase the investment opportunities that the university has to the viable stakeholders.
Professor Gyangenda interacted with several investors, to lobby them in partnering with IUIU ahead of the university’s plans to start commercial farming, establish the Faculty of Engineering, and build a teaching hospital on her prime lands in Mbale, Kween, Arua, and Hoima respectively.
IUIU, the only academic institution that took part in the exhibition, was seeking partnerships with organizations that were interested in agro-business, medical tourism, engineering, and technology.
The president of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa graced the ceremony.
President Museveni encouraged Ugandans to focus on the value addition of agricultural products and advised them to be honest and transparent while dealing with investors.
