The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) has been voted the best private university in Uganda at the 2022 Consumers Choice Awards.
The chief guest at the event, Hon Muruli Mukasa who represented the Prime Minister, Right Honourable Robina Nabbanja commended IUIU for training skillful individuals with discipline which helped in boosting human resource hence building the economy of the country.
Consumers Choice Awards is the only organization in Uganda to recognize business excellence by conducting statistically a comprehensive and objective accurate independent market research survey, to determine brand reputation, customer satisfaction and business excellence for the quality of their service, value, professionalism and integrity.
The Islamic University in Uganda was opened in the year 1988 by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) under a bilateral agreement between the Government of Uganda (GOU) and the OIC.
In 1990, the Parliament of Uganda enacted a law, The Islamic University in Uganda Act (cap 131, Laws of Uganda), formally establishing the University in Uganda.
The University operates under the framework of this Act.
