MBALE: On the Eve of a wet Monday evening amidst underground scares of a petition against the swearing in of IUIU’s shortest guild president, the electoral commission was able to conduct it’s final activity of a swearing in ceremony.
Despite the absence of the outgoing guild president, the ceremony was filled with various guests and signatories including the University’s Rector Dr. Ahmed Ssengendo and all his executive board member team plus representatives from the sister campuses.
After the swearing in session, the new Guild President on being allowed to say a few words to his voters, said a very long qutba (Islamic Prayer) after which he followed with a short preaching session and invited everyone to embrace and live the way of the Quran as this is going to be his direction and way of leadership.

After his preached speech, the Rector Dr. SSENGENDO on taking up the microphone thanked the students for voting and sending him a special Guild President. He asked students to follow their new leader and also borrow a leaf from him. He added that only confidence and belief kept the new president hopeful of the top Job citing his campaign motto “Size Doesn’t Matter, Yes I Can.” on conclusion, the Rector encouraged Mr.Shahali to keep his head high and maybe someday he’d be President of Uganda.
