The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) has threatened students that drink alcohol and smoke marijuana at the institution.
Addressing the course coordinators yesterday, the University’s Dean of Students Dr. Sulait Kabali said there are some students taking alcohol and smoking marijuana which is against the rules and regulations of the Islamic University in Uganda.
“Some students are drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana at this University. This is illegal and when you will be caught, you will be expelled. This is against the rules and regulations of the Islamic University in Uganda,” he said.
The Dean of Students has asked the class coordinators to inform other students to read about the rules and regulations of the University.
“You need to inform all students to understand the rules and regulations and values of IUIU. They must understand these values for them to enjoy their academic journey here,” Dr. Kabali cautioned.
The Dean of Students asked class coordinators of the institution to discharge their duties diligently. He asked them to always be just when serving the students fraternity.
Addressing the students, the former Guild President of IUIU who is the current President of Uganda National Students Association (UNSA) Welunga Yusuf urged the class coordinators to use their posts in marketing the University.
Welunga also asked the class coordinators to balance between their positions and studies. Several class coordinators are attended the induction workshop.
