Leader of Opposition and Nakawa West Member of Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi, has added another feather to his academic cap after graduating with a Master’s degree in Organisational Leadership and Management from Uganda Christian University (UCU).
In a statement shared on social media, Ssenyonyi expressed gratitude, saying, “Thanking God for yet another academic qualification attained today.” His master’s thesis, titled “Perspectives on Corruption, and Addressing Its Effect on Service Delivery: The Case of Banda Parish in Nakawa West Constituency,” focused on issues central to his constituency and national governance.

Ssenyonyi was among 1,524 students who graduated during the first part of UCU’s 26th graduation ceremony, held at the university’s Recreational Grounds in Mukono. The event, celebrated under the theme “Excellence in Learning, Faith, and Service,” recognized graduates across various disciplines, including PhDs, Master’s degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, and Bachelor’s and Diploma programs.
A highlight of this ceremony was the notable representation from UCU Arua Campus, which produced 217 graduates, making up 14.2% of the graduating class. Additionally, 49 students received First Class Honours, including one standout achiever from Arua Campus.
UCU’s Vice Chancellor and academic leadership commended the graduates for their perseverance, especially in the face of recent national and global challenges. The university emphasized its continued commitment to nurturing leaders rooted in integrity, competence, and service to society.
This milestone adds to Ssenyonyi’s growing profile as a public servant committed to both personal development and national transformation.
