Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) held its 2nd graduation ceremony today, Friday, 30th September 2016 at Silver Springs Hotel in capital Kampala. Crowing a special appearance at the graduation ceremony was Kenyan former Vice President Hon. Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka who moved with a few remarks that prepared students for the after campus tussle.
The Ex Vice President beseeched the graduands to go and put to use whatever qualification they have attained and not sit on their degrees. The graduation which was dubbed as a major milestone for UTAMU as their pioneer undergraduate students received their degrees and diplomas since its inception in 2012 shall go down in history as the well attended event for the Kiswa based University.
UTAMU officially opened its doors to students on 7th September 2012 with intent to improve higher education in the region and has undoubtedly been growing to be one of the best universities in the region.
As hundreds were conferred with different honoraries, the graduation ceremony had amazing melodic hymns that were played by the Uganda Prisons Band all the way. Smiles, ululations could be heard from joyful parents and jubilant graduands who couldn’t hide their excitement.
The university Vice Chancellor, Prof. Benon Basheka congratulated the graduands upon reaching their milestone and implored parents to continue sending their children as they are in safe hands at UTAMU
“UTAMU has surely moved from its infancy, and has reached maturity level. It is moving in steadily in the right direction. We are confident of the quality systems through which our graduates have passed through,” Prof. Basheka said.
UTAMU has for time and again been recognized, applauded and awarded as the best university in Uganda that uses digital education.
