The Judicial Service Commission has sacked Mr Musa Ssemwogerere, a recently appointed grade one magistrate, that was caught impersonating to sit exams for his girlfriend at Law Development Center (LDC) Lira campus.
Ssemwogerere was caught on Friday and remanded to Lira main prison on charges of impersonation.
In a news release dated July 28th, 2023, the chief registrar Her Worship Sarah Langu Siu says Ssemwogerere won’t be employed by the judiciary since his offence is contrary to the code of conduct of judiciary.
“The Judiciary would like to inform the general public that Mr Ssemwogerere Ammaari Musa, one of the newly recruited Magistrates Grade I will not be employed into the Judiciary Service,” the release reads in part.
Ssemwogerere was arraigned at the Lira chief magistrates court and charged with two counts of uttering a false document contrary to section 351 of the penal code act.
“Mr Ssemwogerere was remanded to Lira Main Prison having been charged at the Lira Chief Magistrates Court on two counts of uttering a false document contrary to Section 351 of the Penal Code Act and Impersonation contrary to Section 381 of the Penal Code Act,” the release further reads.
