Police accompanied by other security operatives have this afternoon raided Kyambogo University Guild President’s office in a futile move to arrest the Guild President and his targeted cabinet members.
The raid took place at the leaders’ offices located at Kulubya hall of residence opposite Kyambogo University mosque. No cameras or phones were permitted on the scene but our “eagle’s eye” captured a few shots;
Speaking to one of the Student leaders (preferring anonymity) at the university, this website understands that the Police’s ‘visit’ was aimed at frustrating the Guild Presidents effort to question the Education system in the country.
“All this is in line to intimidate him and the colleagues but the ultimatum still stands of 18 days for the minister of education and sports to fix the educational system. All this is being done but it’s illegal,” the Student leader revealed.
Apparently, no arrests have been made yet but phones of on-lookers were confiscated. We shall keep you posted.
