President Museveni has announced that final year undergraduate students will return to campus and complete their studies in a move aimed at maintaining social distancing and controlling the spread of COVID-19.
Museveni, who has announced that government will supply free masks to all citizens, has said that final year students and pupils in candidate classes will be allowed to go back to school.
“Only candidate students like primary seven, senior six and four. Undergraduate students in their final year will be allowed to go back to school after two weeks.” Museveni announced.
He tasked the Ministry of Education to come up with guidelines to ensure that the said category of students return to school and complete their levels of education.
The president appealed to the rest of the students to remain calm because it is safer to guard life than chase worldly achievements like education.
In his address to the nation, the president also gave public transport the green light to operate under guidelines that he outlined. He said these should come right in time to help ferry students back to school.
