President Museveni has suspended the reporting of final year candidates across all levels of education from reporting to school for another 30 days (one month) as a measure to control the spread of the coronavirus.
Museveni, who had initially communicated that finalists would resume school on June 4th, has retaliated the promise after what he termed as careful consideration to ensure that students don’t contract the virus.
“Let us see how the private and public transport works out before we plunge deeper into the exposure.” Museveni said.
The President however encouraged long distancing learning from home, on radios, TVs and online.
“The scientists have advised us to be cautious about re-opening for finalists. We do not have enough testing kits to test all the 1.4M finalists. We have therefore decided to postpone the reopening of school for finalists for another one month.” Museveni.
