Former MAK Chancellor Prof Mondo is at it again, the professor says Kabale University is much more preferred by students in the west than Makerere University.
Speaking at the alumni celebrations of Kigezi High School at Hotel Africana, Kampala, the professor also encouraged the students that Kabale University has the same momentum as Makerere and is also a government institution.
Kigezi high school is in Kabale, Western Uganda; it’s one of the schools that have had most of their students hold high profile influential positions in this ruling government.
Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda (Prime Minister) praised the Kabale based institution and encouraged students who have completed their A-level to join the nearby university so as to cut on cost of travelling to Makerere which doubles as expensive and a lot of competition of resources.
With the theme of “Reconnecting to Root for 2022,” the function was attended by Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile, Governor of the Bank of Uganda, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, the Prime Minister, David Bahati, State Minister of Finance and Planning, Gen. Jim Muhwezi, former Rujumbura legislator.
The Bishop of Kigezi Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Bishop George Bagamuhunda also graced the function that was fundraising for the school’s rehabilitation projects aimed at improving the welfare of the students.
The bishop also encouraged the parents at the reunion to have their children study at KU other than leaving the nearby institution for a further uni in Kampala.
