It was always a calm environment at Kabale University until Wednesday this week when a third year student, Ntirenganya Aggrey was reportedly dead and this is said to have resulted from food poisoning.
The deceased has been a student of tourism at the institution. He was 25 years of age coming from the western part of Uganda where he had spent all his childhood. Rumors within the university suggest that being the only highly educated person in the family, the deceased’s auntie tried as many times as she could to stop his education but failed and later developed an Idea of poisoning him through food in order to at least lose him than having a higher education level more than her children who failed to study.
Luckily enough, Ntiregenya was able to recover as he was given immediate medical attention from those who cared for him and this made him report late this semester. He was given local herbs to cure and just two weeks back, he started feeling severe headache, stomach ache vomiting and other body disorders. He tried accessing modern medications but failed to cure and went back home where he had his last breath on Wednesday.
He was buried today at his ancestral home in Kisoro. May his soul rest in peace.
