Kabale University has officially announced that it has introduced a three year Doctorate of philosophy (PHD) in Information Communication Technology (ICT) programme whose teaching is expected to kick off in August 2019.
The developments were confirmed by Prof. Joy Constance Kwesiga the University’s Vice chancellor who was speaking during a meeting between the University management and a team from the Ministry of Education led by the Permanent Secretary Alex Kakooza.
Over the past years, this university has been offering graduate programs only (up to Master’s degree). During the same meeting, Prof Kwesiga added that the university still needs more land for its expansion program as earlier explained to the district leadership.
Kwesiga also warned that it would be a pity if the land doesn’t form part of the master plan as she explained that this is the period to execute it.
“This is the period to complete the university master plan. It would be a pity if the land doesn’t form part of the master plan. This is a request we are not about to drop; we need more land on this hill. We need more land from Kabale district local government,” asserted Prof. Kwesiga.
