Good news coming in from Kigezi region indicates that a Kabale University member of staff Professor Benon C Basheka has been appointed to coordinate African Institute for Supply Chain Research activities in Uganda.
The institute was established to promote research into supply chain on the African continent where it is under-researched.
The appointment of Prof Basheka was based on his professional standing in procurement and supply chain management. He is also a fellow of the Charted Institute of Procurement and Supply in United Kingdom.
He represented the African continent at the CIPS congress in London for three years from 2013 to 2016. He has also in his academic career undertaken research works in procurement.
His publications are widely used by students and practitioners undertaking procurement and supply chain management training and research.
Professor Basheka lectures on the procurement specialization of the MBA programme in the business department Kabale University.
