Kampala University is in mourning following the sudden and heartbreaking passing of one of its own, Mr. Akampa Chriswill, a first-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication at the Ggaba Main Campus.
Akampa, known for his energy both in the classroom and on the field, tragically passed away while playing football — the sport he deeply loved and dedicated himself to as an active member of the university football team.
His untimely death has left a deep void in the hearts of classmates, teammates, lecturers, and friends who knew him as a passionate, driven, and warm-hearted young man with a bright future ahead.
“He was the kind of student who left an impression — always respectful, always present, and always pushing himself to do more,” said one of his lecturers.
The university has extended its heartfelt condolences to Akampa’s family, fellow students, and the entire Kampala University community. His passing is not just a personal loss but a blow to the spirit of the institution he called home.
Burial will take place in Sheema on Monday.
In this time of sorrow, the university stands with Akampa’s loved ones and honors the life of a student who brought light and energy wherever he went. He will be remembered not just for how he died, but for how he lived — with passion, purpose, and heart.
