A student of Kampala University identified as Julius Ssekitoleko who doubles as a sports man has gone missing in Japan where he was supposed to be participating in weight lifting of the 2020 Olympic games.
Ssekitoleko, 20, was worried missing after failing to appear by noon for his daily virus (PCR) test and was not in his hotel room in Japan, according to a statement.
“One member of the Ugandan delegation, which the city received as a host town, has gone missing and cannot be reached,” the statement by Izumisano City reads, in part.
Ssekitoleko and his team arrived in the Asian country ahead of the 2020 Olympic Games which are kick-starting on July 23, after a setback last year due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The whereabout of this young lad are unknown, however, residents of his hostel say they last saw him shortly after the midnight hour.
