Today, Presidential hopeful and youngest Presidential candidate John Katumba campaigned in Tooro Sub-region.
After a successful campaign in Kyegegwa, Katumba headed to Fort Portal and made a stop over at a petrol started and started talking to his supporters that were elated to see him.
No sooner had the 24-year-old started talking to his supporters than police arrived and disrupted the meeting.
“Why are you campaigning at a petrol station?” the police office queried Katumba.
“I’m not campaigning, did you hear Katumba oyee anywhere?” the youngest presidential aspirant replied before seating on the ground in protest.
He was later driven to his campaign grounds. He promised residents of Tooro to benefit from the oil. “You will be the major beneficiaries of the oil and not the government. We shall drill and refine our oil and not sell it crude,” Katumba campaigned.
Katumba also promised to build for the region more schools.
