Kampala’s tough Boss Lady Jennifer Musisi perfected the art of demolition when she returned back to her ‘disciplinary’ ways this time ‘touching’ were it hurts most. KCCA hooligans in the wake of last week stormed Kataza, a city suburb and demolished all illegal stalls that encroached on road reserves.
After a month’s long evacuation notice that was slapped on the vendors elapsed, the chaps from KCCA stormed Kataza and made sure they rammed the weak stalls to the ground.
Kataza area harbors almost 40 percent of MUBS’ Nakawa hostels with an estimated quarter of the university’s population residing there.
The ‘heart’ of Kataza residents was touched when these stalls that made the business students at MUBS clearly practice being good economisers. ‘Kikomando’ and ‘Rolex’ stalls, delicacies that are stealthily sought after by MUBS babes were not spared in this exercise.
However, Campusbee confirms that there are adamant vendors that adopted the ‘Sidda Mukyaalo’ phases (Loosely translated as I wont go back to the Village) and have re-construced back their stalls to move on with business.
News elsewhere indicates that Kay Club a popular hangout spot with a new branch in Kataza has suspended its operations with barely two months of existence!
Campusbee exclusively learnt that it was frustrated because of the rent arrears, low customer turn up and poor hygiene which was condemned by the KCCA. The spot that was aimed at the vast number of student residents in the area is now a former shadow of itself.
