The year has started on a rather terrible note for the Makerere University community with yet another student murder in the now-notorious Kikoni area, home to thousands of Makerere University students.
The bloodied body of Muzahura Stuart, a former Guild Representative Council (GRC) representing the faculty of BIFA in the 80th guild was discovered in Kikoni today morning, having been murdered by unknown assailants. He was to graduate on 19th this month. Details surrounding his death are still scanty but Campusbee will bring you the latest information as we get it.
KIKONI A DEATH TRAP?
The late Stuart’s murder adds onto the ever-growing list of student murders in the densely populated Kikoni area, a place much dreaded by many students and considered a no-go area after 10pm by others due to its outrageous levels of insecurity. Students complain that police is not doing enough to ensure their safety.
In a strongly worded message, Makerere’s guild president Bala David has chided the Police and other security organs for not doing enough to ensure the non-occurrence of student muders in Kikoni and other insecure environs neighbouring the continent’s 3rd best University.
