This week is Makerere university’s culture week. The three male halls, Nkrumah, Nsibirwa, University Hall have hardly a thing to do. Africa and Livingstone meanwhile on Wednesday hosted their porridge night at Africa hall.
The affair was quite uneventful. There was nyama choma, ice cream and music. In addition to the maize porridge blended lightly with cow milk. Earlier in the day, the hall leaders had a soccer game dubbed cage soccer. The game of ten a side is played inside an old tennis court. Rough as the Serie A, the only rule is that there are no rules of the game. The ministers lost 2 nil to the Livingston cage team.
The icing on the cake was the mixture of Kitoko and porridge! Two boilers of porridge mixed with milk, and hot loaf doughnuts. As a way of solidifying the solidarity; the gents are expected to knock at random girls’ doors and ask for cups gently. Makerere university students seem to have a thing for liquor, bold students cocktailed porridge with Kitoko!
Yesterday, there was a night of talent, fashion and modelling at Africa hall.
Friday will be masquerade night and street jam. Affairs begin at 8pm. Here are pics of the event!
