Youthful Kampala International University (KIU) alumnus Mubarak Uthman is set to become Hoima district’s new L.C.5 chairperson
Uthman, aged 26, holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from KIU and is looking forward to replacing his fallen father Kadir Kirungi.
The Hoima district chairperson seat fell vacant when Kadir and his bodyguard Bosco Otim got involved in a fatal accident along Kampala-Hoima road in March this year.
Youthful Utham has been all excited ever since he got a green card to campaign and traverse Hoima district in a bid to replace his deceased father.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has dominated the campaigns with five candidates in the race namely; Jackson Mulindambura, Vincent Muhumuza, Yunus Mugabe, Kyakadongo and the youthful Uthman Mubarak, the son to the deceased chairman Kadir Kirungi.
The opposition political parties especially the national unity platform seem to be undecided who to front in this L.C.5 by election.
Speaking to this reporter, Uthman said he is looking forward to improving Hoima district’s health sector, agriculture and accessibility to education.
“Iam continuing to spread the NRM manifesto and agenda to the electorate and am happy for the positive feedback from the electorate. I stand to improve our health sector, education accessibility, agriculture, peace and development…”he said.
Uthman Mubarak, if the current reports are anything to go by, seems to be in the lead with many of his fellow NRM candidates looking at him with a bad eye.
Nevertheless, Uthman seems to be focused on his ambition and he is not distracted by the growing hatred from his opponents.
If elected as Hoima district chairperson, Uthman will become one of the youngest LC.5 chairperson(s), replacing Martin Ssejjemba of Mpigi district.
