Following the fatal death of seven Kampala International University (KIU) students, the Kansanga based campus continues to mourn the loss of these young souls. The KIU Public Relations Office confirmed that the University has been closed for the whole of today so that students can mourn and bury their deceased friends.
As we earlier reported, the seven students lost their lives on Friday night at Nakasongola along Kakooge town along Gulu – Kampala highway after being involved in a nasty accident.
The closure is meant to allow friends, course mates and relatives of the fallen students to go and bury their loved ones without having to miss lectures and tests. It is also a sign of solidarity as the university administration stands with the families of the deceased.
The entire KIU university fraternity on Sunday evening held a requiem mass as students converged to pay their last respects to their departed colleagues.
May the souls of these students rest in eternal peace.
