The Guild President Kampala International University (KIU)-Western Campus, John Natumanya has penned down a letter to the government to come out and avail a clear roadmap on when education institutions will reopen.

Natumanya says this will help parents and students clearly plan ahead post COVID-19 pandemic.

“They (government) should come up and give us a clear and formal document on whether they are going to reopen learning centres this year again or we wait next year as we are seeing what other countries are doing rather than remaining in the shadows,” Natumanya says.

“The e-learning suggested by the education ministry for higher institutions and learning from TVs and radios doesn’t even favour 25% of 15 million students in the country,” Natumanya adds.

He also advised his fellow students at KIU to be strong and not to be discouraged by the uncertainity of the life after COVID-19.

“Sometimes ups and downs break you to the core, leave you with no options and you might even feel like quitting but then, in the end, you survive it all. I strongly advise you all to set your own direction, build an inspiring vision, and create something new for future,” Natumanya says.
