Kikuku Innocent is a 22 year old resident of Kyaterekera Town Council, Kagadi District doing a weekend programme – Bachelors in Law at Kampala International university main Campus along Gaba Road.
Before COVID came in, Innocent says he had just joined the second semester of his second year as a private sponsored student who used to sale second hand clothes at the same time doing events like decorations, working in concerts during night.
Innocent revealed to this website that his residence was on Kampala streets along the container village and Kalerwe Streets along Gayaza Road as he tried all options possible so as to raise tuition and study over the weekend.
When COVID kicked in, concerts closed, the economy closed and during curfew enforcements, Innocent alleges that he was usually arrested, prompting him to go back to the village. While upcountry, he carried out farming but due to poor seasons, all was in vain and each time university reopened, he failed to proceed up to date.
“Now that the economy has closed am still completely stuck, I don’t know where to start from, really don’t know what to do next, as I now have no connection, capital for 2nd hand clothes, or even events. I thought about writing this open letter to anyone for any assistance ranging from advice, knowledge, guidance or Scholarship. I’m welcoming any assistance or Interview related to this matter in any way possible whatsoever,” Innocent cried out.
Currently, Innocent passes his time doing some manual work like brick making as he awaits help from any ‘good samaritan’.
