Kampala International University (KIU) has continued to establish itself as one of the leading private universities in the land.
Through rankings and awards, KIU has amassed quite a recognition and to latest to the trophy cabin is a Presidential award.
On Thursday June 23rd, 2022, the university won the Gold Presidential Export Award under the Education Service category at the annual event organized by the Uganda Export Promotions Board (UEPB).
This, according to KIU media team, event held at Imperial Royale Hotel Kampala was part of the UEPB’s Export Week 2022-themed “Enhancing Government Efforts for Boosting Export Growth”.
The Gold Award and certificate of recognition were presented on behalf of the President Yoweri Museveni by Rt Hon. Rukia Nakadama, the Third Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister without Portfolio to Kampala International University in the category of Education Service for export support in 2021/2022.
The award on behalf of KIU was received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Finance and Administration. Prof. Janice Busingye and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Dr. Sophia Kazibwe.
These awards are aimed at recognizing companies and individuals who have engaged and excelled in exporting and earning the country foreign revenue.
Companies were assessed based on export performance, contribution toward Uganda’s socio-economic development, product diversification and corporate social responsibility.
KIU won the Gold Award at the last UEPB awards in 2020, and has consistently been the leading exporter of educational services in Uganda with thousands of international students at both main and western campuses.
