Police in Bushenyi District are investigating the killing of 21-year-old Linette Karunga, a student at Kampala International University (KIU) Western Campus, who was reportedly murdered in Nyakashebeya Village, Nyabubare Parish, Nyabubare Subcounty.

Preliminary reports indicate that Karunga’s body was discovered under unclear circumstances, prompting a swift response from local authorities.

Greater Bushenyi Police spokespersons confirmed that two men believed to have been in relationships with the deceased have been arrested to help with investigations. The suspects have been identified as Onan Nimwesiga and another man only identified as Farouk.

Police say the duo is being questioned as part of efforts to establish the motive and events leading to Karunga’s death.

Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation as they work to piece together the facts of the case.
