Asan Kezimbira is a KIU fresh graduate with a first class Bachelors Degree in Public Administration who had been out of school for 12 years since he finished his UACE. This student finished his form six way back in 2007 scoring 20 points but failed to join university because he lacked money to facilitate his tuition while at campus.
He was first shortlisted at Kyambogo University with a Bachelors of Arts in Procurement and Logistics Management but failed to join. His hope didn’t diminish. He also first tried KIU in 2013 but it was the same case, failing to raise tuition.
After realizing that he needed money to fund his education, he looked for other means of getting the money as he had tried several scholarship opportunities and failed. Kyezimbira then started a bakery of snacks, chapati and mandazi to raise tuition and by 2016 the business had worked out.
He was able to raise even more than he had expected and he was able to employ more youths to boost his business.
In April 2016, he was admitted at KIU to pursue a degree in Public Administration and fortunately he has been among the 2405 graduands of this year having the highest CGPA of 4.79. A first class student with a first class degree.
