As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Kampala International University (KIU) Western Campus through its Teaching Hospital has vowed to continue providing free cervical cancer screening, Hepatitis B testing, HIV testing, and gynecology consultation.
This comes after a successful screening exercise as part of the 2022 International Women’s Day celebrations.
The activities attracted over 70 women from all across the Greater Bushenyi sub-region, and were intended at assisting individuals who couldn’t afford these services and reminding the community of the hospital’s best practices as a gesture of Corporate Social Responsibility.
All of the instances that were identified as requiring medical attention will be continuously monitored in order to ensure that they receive excellent and meaningful therapy.
The activities were a success, according to Isima Bagaga, the hospital’s Public Relations Officer, because the turnout was good.
“The response was fantastic, and we hope to keep doing it as a way of giving back to our community,” Bagaga added.
