The management of Kampala International University (KIU) has appointed Professor Frank Kaharuza as the new deputy vice chancellor in charge of KIU-Western campus in Ishaka Bushenyi.
Prof Kaharuza was unveiled in a ceremony held the institution led by KIU Vice chancellor Prof Mouhamad Mpezamihugo.
In his remarks, Prof Mpezamihigo welcomed Prof Kaharuza and promised to give him support him during his tenure. Prof Emuron was applauded for steering the campus and providing good leadership in her transitional tenure as Acting DVC.
Prof. Kaharuza said that he will mainly focus on areas of research and innovation, faculty and school integration, and identification of relevant targeted community interventional projects to be supported by the campus as part of KIU corporate social responsibility agenda.
Prior to his appointment, Prof Kaharuza was the Team Lead for USAID Uganda Family Health Portfolio and supported a team of six technical experts in Maternal and Child Health, Family Planning, Water and Sanitation, and Nutrition in USAID Uganda.
