Makerere admissions list were out a week ago and while some people are jubilating, others were not given their dream courses. Worse yet, others were not admitted at all.
Campus Bee spoke to the Academic Registrar’s office and brings you answers and clarifications to your ailments about the admissions.
Can I re-apply if I wasn’t given any course at all?
According to the Deputy Registrar (Undergraduate Admissions and Records Division), Mr. Charles Sentongo there is still room to apply for Bachelor of Arts in Social Development. Otherwise you cannot re-apply for any other course.
“Meetings for selections happen once. We would love to allow room for re-application but then in a University like Makerere, that would mean this process will never end.” explained Mr. Sentongo.
I got admitted with a course I don’t like, what can I do?
This is a concern every year and the University is aware. The good news is there is hope for you. According to Mr. Sentongo, a chance will be given to applicants that wish to change course when the semester starts. The catch however is that you should meet the requirements of your desired course in terms points, major subjects etc.
They gave me another branch of Makerere, how do I change to main Campus?
The rules here are the same with change of course. Mr. Sentongo says that you only have to wait until the semester starts and apply for a change.
