Kyambogo University will on December 10–11 hold its 21st graduation ceremony, with 5,138 students set to receive degrees, diplomas and certificates. The event will run over two days at the main campus and will be broadcast live on NBS and the university’s social media platforms.
Releasing the pre-graduation brief, Vice Chancellor Prof. Eli Katunguka thanked the University Council, Senate, staff and students for steering the institution through another academic cycle. He also acknowledged government support in financing university operations and salaries.
This year’s cohort reflects the lingering impact of the COVID-19 disruption, particularly the 2021/2022 academic year in which Uganda did not conduct Senior Six exams. Male graduands account for 61 percent (3,157) and females 39 percent (1,981).
Record Doctoral Output
Kyambogo will graduate 23 PhD candidates, a milestone for the university as it continues to expand its postgraduate portfolio. Twelve candidates are from the School of Education, four from the School of Art and Industrial Design, three from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and four from the Faculty of Science.
